FORWARD

FORWARD by Marcia Barrett with Lloyd Bradley | Published June 2018

Born in Jamaica on October 14th 1948, Marcia Barrett arrived in
London at the age of thirteen, from desperate poverty.

She would find herself pregnant at fifteen and fifteen years later
singing in Boney M., one of the biggest international groups of the seventies.
After the group’s  heyday a messy split would happen during the eighties.

Always seeing a positive Marcia would fully  concentrate on her solo career she’d put
on hold. With the support of her loving husband Marcus she would set herself to the task.

But a new reality for Marcia and Marcus would see her solo career interrupted.
Over more than two decades she has survived six bouts of cancer –
ovarian, breast, lymph node (twice), spine and oesophagus –
even having to learn to walk again.

Yet, throughout, Marcia Barrett has remained cheerful, relentlessly optimistic and an
inspiration. She has chosen to look on every obstacle as a mere inconvenience
rather than anything insurmountable. Now she tells her fantastic story and it is
much more than just a pop star autobiography.

It is charming, candid, and laugh-out-loud story of survival, triumph and upfullness !
